Art has been a part of my life since my grandmother gave me my first box of Crayolas! She was a gifted sewer and crocheter. Seemed a natural progression to create art using textiles. The more color the better. I love a good process.
As a textile artist, I make each item with care in my studio in Taneytown, Maryland. I craft each item using traditional techniques, including water marbling, ice dyeing, batik and silk painting. No two items are the same.
I absolutely love water marbling! First you mix a thickened liquid of carrageenan and water. Next I drop thinned acrylic paint on the surface and comb through the paints to get a beautiful pattern. I then place an item or paper on top to create a one of a kind print.
We believe in creating beautiful textiles while respecting the environment. Our commitment to sustainability means we source eco-friendly materials and implement responsible production methods throughout our supply chain.
We often take the show on the road. This magical spot is located at Annmarie Gardens in Solomons Island.
